Timothy Romine was born November 13th, 1960 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and passed away August 8, 2025 in Dallas, Texas. He was a loving father, husband, brother and son, and a good friend to everyone that knew him. He had a happy childhood, played sports and enjoyed exploring Tulsa on his bicycle with his friends. He attended Marquette School and graduated from Booker T. Washington H.S. Classic middle America stuff, but his real passion was music.

A lover of all kinds of music, Tim was especially fond of the music of the 1960s, from Pop to Soul and R&B, to Garage and Psychedelia. He was an obsessive fan of The Yardbirds, The Rolling Stones, The Who and many other British Invasion groups, and had a sweet spot for the Girl Group sound. He was also a huge fan of the New York Dolls, Ramones and many '70s Punk bands. He learned to play drums in his youth and ended up playing in various Tulsa Punk and New Wave bands using his stage name Tim Stile (because Tim was a man with style). One band he was in, The Flying Dots, once opened for U2. Years later after moving to Dallas, his band Hash Palace opened for Nirvana, and a few years before that, while in The Healing Faith, Tim opened for one of his heroes, Johnny Thunders. As a friend recently said, "How many people can say they shared the stage with U2, Nirvana, and Johnny Thunders?"

Tim is best known as the singer and songwriter for The Mullens. Spanning thirty plus years, The Mullens released five albums and performed all over the U.S. and Canada. Their first album is considered by '90s Garage Punk fans all over the world as one of the best of the genre. Tim was also a huge recording enthusiast, teaching himself various techniques by building a home studio where he recorded nearly all of The Mullens' releases, as well as many recordings by other local bands. Between the bands he recorded and his own music, over 25 records have been released that Tim was involved with. The Mullens would go through many lineups but Tim kept the band going, taking on rhythm guitar duties and playing multiple shows a year, always supportive of other artists, especially newer, younger bands. He never sought fame or fortune. He made and performed music for fun and out of love, and simply because he had to.

More than music, Tim's true love was his family. Tim met Kristin in 1997 and in storybook fashion, proposed to her on Christmas Day 1998 while they were on vacation in London, England. They were married on Tim's birthday in 1999, and in 2001 their son Nick was born. In 2007 they became a quartet with the arrival of Claire. Tim's children meant the world to him and both Nick and Claire have followed in their father's footsteps with many creative, artistic and musical interests. Tim was always present in his children's activities whether it was scout functions, theatre productions, choir concerts, or swim meets (although he may have missed a couple swim meets because those things take forever).

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Jane Romine, and his brother Dennis Romine. He is survived by his wife Kristin, son Nick, and daughter Claire Romine; brother Patrick and sisters Maggie and Karolyn. Tim is beloved by his countless friends, bandmates, and other musicians who respected his talent, integrity and generosity.
