Timothy Alan Welch
Timothy Alan Welch affectionately known as "Tim" was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend to all who knew him. Tim had a zest for life and a passion for adventure. He found solace in the great outdoors, often embarking on backpacking trips and enjoying the tranquility of fly fishing. His adventurous spirit knew no bounds. Tim also had a deep love for music and he shared that love with those around him through the songs he sang, in tune as he radiated warmth, safety, and a special kind of peace that can only be understood when in his presence.
Tim was born on October 5, 1967, in
Carbondale, Illinois. Tim lived most of his life in California having moved out west when he was 5 years old. He attended grade school at Lakes Hughes Elizabeth Elementary School through the 8th grade and graduated from Quartz Hill High School 1985. He entered the Navy in 1987 and graduated boot camp at Great Lakes Naval Base at the top of his class. Tim moved back to Illinois after the Navy and met Stacy, his first wife, and her son Cody in
Edwardsville, Illinois. They soon moved to
Llano, Texas where they married in early 1999 and later that year, Hailey was born. Stacy and Tim moved to
Belton, Missouri in 2000 where Tim worked construction. In 2002 Tim moved back to California. Hailey lived with her mother until Stacy passed away in 2010.
In 2012, Tim met Tanya Redfield. They fell in love and married that next year. They lived together in Rosamond, California. Tanya's family embraced Tim with open arms. They enjoyed many backpacking trips together over the years to the Sierra's. During this time, Tim was the head cook for Quidos Italian restaurant in Rosamond. He loved working at Quidos and was loved by many employees and patrons in return.
Tim passed away on September 4, 2023, in
Mojave, California.
Tim leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories and is survived by many. He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Hailey Welch (who meant the world to him) from
Austin, Texas, and her brother, Cody Hawkin of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. His mother, Kennelyn Sue Saiz and his stepfather Pete Saiz and their two daughters, Kathleen Boudreau-Booterbaugh with husband Charlie Booterbaugh and Jessica Saiz-Avila and husband Daniel Jason Avila. Uncle Phillip Saiz of
Lake Hughes, California.
Tim also leaves behind his maternal and aunts and uncles: Richard and Dorothy Lathrop of
Palmdale, California and William Gregory and Debra Snider of Poicianam, Florida.
Tim leaves his father David Welch, his wife Sharon and brother, Jason, of
Cambria, Illinois, as well as his Aunt Renae and Uncle Butch Hunsaker of
Carterville, Illinois, along with their sons Jim, Brian and Brent.
Tim is also survived by his former wife, Tanya Redfield Welch and her four children: Sierra, Jennifer, Kyle and Thomas who loved Tim like their own father.
Having grown up in both California and Illinois. Tim leaves behind a large extended family of cousins and friends that loved him dearly and who continued to love him throughout his life.
Tim now goes to join his late wife, Stacy Welch of
Benton, Missouri, as they join as one to watch over and protect their beloved daughter, Hailey.
In the short amount of time he walked this earth, Tim touched the lives of many with his admirable kindness, humor, and adventurous spirit. Though he may be gone, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
