Thomas Anthony White (1957 – 2023) Tom White died suddenly on March 26, 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee. Born in Taylors, South Carolina to Elsie Hill and Walter Estes White, Tom was raised from a young age in Green Hills as the youngest of four boys.
Tom attended Julia Green, John Trotwood Moore, Hillsboro High School, and matriculated to The University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Collegiately, Tom was nationally ranked in table tennis and later in life became a prolific amateur cyclist and male model. He was a lifelong audiophile and lover of all gadgets. Known for his quick wit and dry humor, Tom enjoyed spending time playing poker with friends, camping, and hiking outdoors. Most especially, Tom loved his twin sons and their families, and named himself “Pickles” as his grandfather nickname. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Walter White (Marti), Johnny White (Gwen, deceased), and Bob White (Virginia).
He is survived by his sons, Lee White (Alexandra), Webb White (Leah), grandson, Jack White, and former wife, long-time friend, and mother to Lee and Webb, India Webber.
A memorial service will be held in the pavilion at Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.at 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, Tennessee 37221. A reception for family and friends will follow the Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to The American Heart Association, The Nashville Humane Association, or a charity of your choice.
