Howard "Tony" Baumann, age 96, of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026.
Tony was born on July 10, 1929, in Newport, Kentucky, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Schappel) Baumann. After completing high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, Tony continued his dedication to aviation and public service through a long and respected career at Robins Air Force Base, where he worked as an Assistant Airfield Manager with Civil Service until his retirement.
Tony was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was known for his strong work ethic, quiet devotion to family, and deep sense of patriotism.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Agnes (Rust) Baumann, son, Eric Baumann, and great-grandson, Ollie Sauls.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Tina Sauls, Anthony Baumann, Diana Roets (Bill), and Teresa Baumann; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Betty Verst and Marian Rust; and his sister-in-law, Millie Baumann.
A rosary will be said at 6:00 pm on Friday, January 23, 2026, with a visitation following until 8:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. A funeral mass to honor Tony's life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Tony will be laid to rest following the service at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Father Fred Nijem and Deacon Jim Hunt will officiate.
Tony will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew him, and his legacy of service, faith, and family will live on.
