Anthony "Tony" F. Colamonico, age 67, passed away at home on September 13, 2024. He was born January 6, 1957 in Chicago to the late Frank and Regina Colamonico. In 1994, Tony married his wife Carol, whom he regarded as the love of his life. In December, they would have celebrated 30 years of marriage.
Tony will be dearly missed by his wife Carol; sisters, Suzi Fassel (Jim) and Julie Cure (Tom); nieces and nephews, Shannon Parker (Marc), Kristin Lapetina (James), and many more nieces & nephews and grandnephews... and of course, his dog and best friend Fitzie.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Regina Colamonico; his brother, Frank Colamonico; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Loretta Bak.
Also, special thanks to Dr. Rajan Patel, who helped care for Tony's many special health needs.
Tony graduated from Washburne Trade School. He was an outstanding electrician (Local 134) for over 30 years, having worked for Chicago Streets and Sanitation, Chicago Public Schools, High Rise Construction, contractors, and ending his career at Chicago O'Hare Airport working with electrical and high voltage systems. He enjoyed over 10 wonderful years of retirement with Carol.
Tony enjoyed dog training for which he won multiple trophies, medals and ribbons with his beloved dog Frisco, who was also a Shining Star in the Art of Ring sport. Tony was always full of life, jokes, stories and his values. They superseded the quality of his unique and special character.
A visitation will be held from 3 - 8 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024 at Muzyka & Son Funeral Home, 5776 West Lawrence Avenue, Chicago.
