Tonya Chinelle Inscoe, born on December 16, 1973, in Gaston County, North Carolina, left us suddenly on November 15, 2025, at the CaroMont Regional Medical Center. Her unexpected passing has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
Throughout her life, Tonya was a beacon of warmth and kindness, touching the hearts of many around her. She is deeply mourned by her mother, Wanda Sue Stamey Inscoe, and her half-sister, DeLena Mauney (Doug), niece, Brittney Green (Justin), nephew, Justin Whittington (Tiziana), great nieces, Emma and Reagan Whittington, Peyton and Pyper Green, and aunt, Vickie King both of whom cherished their time with her and the love they shared. Additionally, she leaves behind many wonderful friends who will remember her spirit and vivacity.
Tonya's life was marked by her loving nature and her ability to create lasting connections. Among those memories resides her cherished fiancé, Randy Avery, who preceded her in death on December 22, 2018. Their bond remains a testament to the love they shared during their time together, and while he is no longer with us, his memory continues to be a source of comfort. She dearly loved her church, Old Pathway Independent Baptist Church, especially her Pastor and church family. She also enjoyed singing, spending time with her nieces and buying them things. Tonya enjoyed bingo and writing beautiful short stories; she had a beautiful hand writing. Most of all her mama was her world and she loved spending time with her and her beloved dog Lola.
As we honor Tonya's life, friends and family are invited to gather for visitation at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation in Gastonia, NC, on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A memorial gathering will follow, allowing all who knew her to celebrate her life and memory at 2:00 PM, Saturday in the Chapel with Pastor Jim Carver officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Pathway Independent Baptist Church, P.O. Box 42, Dallas, NC 28034
Tonya will always be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, and friend, whose spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
