Troy Tyler Libby, born on April 10, 1970, in Columbia, SC, passed away suddenly on November 7, 2025, at Atrium Health-Main. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, remembered for his strong work ethic during his tenure at Patco Foods and adored for his compassion towards those around him.
Troy had a gentle heart, evident in his interactions with the world around him. He often found joy in the simplest of acts, whether it was stopping to help a turtle cross the road or rescuing birds that had fallen from their nests. His appreciation for art shaped his life, as he enjoyed collecting beautiful pieces throughout the years, which reflected his deep understanding and reverence for creativity and expression.
A true lover of music, Troy found solace in melodies that accompanied his adventures, especially during his cherished moments hiking along trails and chasing stunning waterfalls. These experiences were more than mere pastimes; they were a demonstration of his zest for life and the beauty he found in nature's wonders.
Above all, Troy was immensely proud of his family. He is survived by his sons, Bradley Libby (Brittany) and Devin Libby (Michelle), and his bonus son, Hunter West (Britney). Their mother, Jennifer Libby, and his beloved granddaughter, Harper Belle Libby, also survive him. He took great pride in being a father and grandfather, finding joy and fulfillment in their lives and accomplishments.
Troy is preceded in death by his father, Loren Libby, his mother, Trudy Chandler, and a brother, Bradley. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared with family and friends.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service at this time. Those wishing to honor Troy’s memory may make donations in his name to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 950 West Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605, or online at www.shrinerschildrens.org.
