Tracey Marie Tranter

Our beautiful mother, daughter, and sister, Tracey Marie Tranter, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, age 46, passed away May 23rd, 2024 in South Jordan Utah.
Tracey was born on August 11th, 1977 to Brad and Linda Tranter. She was the eldest, and ringleader, of 4 daughters. As a child she was a natural born leader and some of her favorite memories involved sneaking into hot tubs at Snowbird every summer.
Tracey was known for her hard work and dedication. She graduated from Alta High School and received her Bachelors of Nursing from the University of Utah. She then returned to the University of Utah and received her Masters in Nursing with an emphasis in psychiatry.
She was a mother of 2 children, Taelor Jon Gittins and Brooklyn Marie Gittins of whom she worked hard for her entire life. She was also a devoted aunt to her many nieces and nephews and would often shower them with fun experiences and lots of candy.
Tracey was known for her compassion. She cared for patients at Alta view as a RN. She worked devotedly as a Labor and Delivery nurse at Jordan Valley and Lone Peak hospitals. She's worked at several mental health clinics, where she's helped numerous patients overcome personal struggles. She started her own mental health clinic where she helped many and was well respected in her field.
As hard as Tracey worked in her life, she also knew how to play. If Tracey could live anywhere, she would live on the beach with her toes in the sand and a drink in her hand. She loved the sun, catamaran sailing, snorkeling with sharks, and eating rum cake. More than this, she loved bringing others along on her adventures. Her generosity knows no bounds.
Tracey was renowned for her sweet tooth. She wasn't above the occasional doordash where she'd order strawberry milkshakes and scotcheroos. She loved fine dining, with a side of French fries and ketchup. On every vacation, she could be counted on to have a box of cheezits from home, and she was always willing to share. Tracey loved the finer things in life and often treated herself with the very best.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law Taelor and Brooklyn Fagergren Gittins, daughter Brooklyn Marie Gittins, parents Brad and Linda Tranter, grandma Barbara Baxter Christy, siblings Jill and Mike Comarell, Kirsten and Chris Miles, Rachel and Darren Washburn, 2 nieces and 7 nephews, several aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by partner Matthew Tullin, grandparents Raymond Baxter, Bonnie and Reid Tranter, uncle Mark Baxter and cousin Justin Tranter.
There will be a viewing for Tracey on Thursday, May 30th from 6 - 8 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens (1950 E, 10600 S Sandy, Utah 84092), and a service for family and close friends on Friday, May 31 at 11 am at the same location.
