Travis R. Deardorff, 49, of Chambersburg, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at his home. Born September 30, 1974 in Chambersburg, he was the son of Connie Lou Gelwicks Starr (husband Ralph) and the late Roy L. Deardorff.
Travis was a 1993 graduate of James Buchanan High School. He was employed most recently as a Maintenance Technician at Parx Casino in Shippensburg. He previously was employed at Schreiber Foods in Shippensburg for a number of years. In the late 1990’s Travis was a professional wrestler. An avid sports fan, he was followed the Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Steelers and the Penn State Nittany Lions. He also enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia, playing tennis, golf and was in several pool leagues.
In addition to his mother, Travis is survived by ten aunts and uncles, Karen Mickey and husband Greg, Kimberly Hann and husband Jerry, Judy Blair, Sharon Couch and husband Jerry, Randall Gelwicks, Jeff Gelwicks and wife Deb, Brian Haines and wife Danielle, Becky Mathis and husband Terrill, Leon Deardorff and Dale Deardorff. Aside from his father, Travis was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and his aunt, Jodi Hann.
Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA. Condolences and memories may be shared at geiselfuneralhome.com.
