Trula Mae Nida, 88, of Coralville, IA died on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Stirlingshire Assisted Living in Coralville.
Private family funeral services will be held and officiated by Pastor Jenny Seylar. Burial will follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery, Coralville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward the Parkinson's Foundation or the Alzheimer's Association.
Trula was born on October 30, 1935 in rural Parnell, Iowa, the daughter of Irvin Lee and Ethel Mae Margaret (Alexander) Gingerich.
Trula grew up in Parnell, Iowa with her six siblings and graduated with her high school diploma. She was a simple homemaker who enjoyed caring for many children over the years among the other duties that helped make their house a home.
On September 28, 1958, Trula married Max Eugene Nida in Parnell, IA. Trula and Max had two children, Charles and Margaret.
Trula enjoyed traveling around the United States with her family in their motorhome. She enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling and could often be found working in her yard. Her greatest joy was her family and her grandkids.
She was a devout Christian and an active member of the Coralville United Methodist Church. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and enjoyed helping others and giving back to the community.
The family of Trula would like to thank Centerwell Home Health, Stirlingshire of Coralville, the Wound Center in UI Medical Center Downtown, St. Croix Hospice and the First Responders of Coralville for the extraordinary care that they gave to Trula.
Trula is survived by her daughter Margaret (Charles) Sedlacek; grandchildren: Jason (Nicole) Sedlacek, Stacy (Derek) Holmes and Kelly Sedlacek; great-grandchildren: Asher Charles Sedlacek, Everly Rose Sedlacek, Grace Ann Holmes and Oliver Michael Holmes; siblings Donald Gingerich, Patty Gibson, Lois Miller, Susan Hetrick and sister-in-law Danette Gingerich. Trula is also survived by her family of the heart Marleina Bruneau and Eira Bruneau, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Charles, brother Jerry Gingerich, sister Goldie Ruegsegger, brothers-in-law Milo Ruegsegger, Rex Gibson and Ed Hetrick and nephews Jerry Wayne Gingerich and Bradford Miller.
