The following is an obituary written by Tyler's loving family.

Tyler Andrew Traut, 25, of North Salem for the past 18 years, passed away unexpectedly on January 5,
2024.

Tyler was born on December 2, 1998 to Amanda Jo Traut in Danville, IN.

Tyler graduated from Tri-West High School in 2017. After high school Tyler explored different career options until he landed his dream job running the family business, Smitty's Hardware & More in North Salem where he touched many lives.

Tyler enjoyed football (especially his Seatle Seahawks) and gaming, but most of all Tyler loved spending time with his family and friends spreading his love, bear hugs and infectious smile that could light up any room.

Tyler is survived by his loving mother and father, Amanda Traut and Leroy Smith Il; adoring sister Taylor Jo Traut; loving brother, Bryan Devon Traut; aunts and uncles, Nicki Laycoax, Bobby and Cristina Stinson; grandparents, Charles McCarns, Mike and Lonnie Stinson; cousins, Brooke and Garrett Sweeney, Brayden Laycoax, Ashlynn Ratts, Brody and Boston Stinson and hundreds of extended cousins; fiancé, Summer Trotter and boys, Jackson and Bentley.

Tyler is preceded in death by his grandmother, Paula McCarns.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate Tyler's life at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, IN on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 4pm to 7pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home the following day, Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11 am. Tyler will be laid to rest in North Salem at Fairview.

All are encouraged to keep Tyler's family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
