He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. V. Cherian Thomas and Saramma Thomas and three of his brothers, VT Achenkunju, VT Chacko, and Thomas John. He is survived by: his wife, Annie Alexander; his children, Dr. Anita (Thomas) George and Thomas (Keli) Alexander; his grandchildren, who fondly called him Baba, Dr. Kate (Justin) Koshy, Scott George, Bella George, Luca (Liliane) Alexander, Tony Alexander, and Nick Alexander; and his siblings, Thomas (Mariyamma) Matthew, VT Thomas, Lena (John) Varghese, Babu (Lali) Thomas; and sisters-in-law, Dr. Susamma (Mathen) Mathew, Gracen (Daniel) George, Leelama Achenkunju, Sally Thomas, and Annamma John; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service to celebrate the life of Dr. V. Thomas Alexander will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at St. Thomas Syrian Orthodox Church, 5720 Lilburn Stone Mountain Road, Stone Mountain, GA, 30087, with Fr. George Daniel officiating. Entombment will follow at Barrow Memorial Gardens, Winder, GA. The family will receive friends the evening prior, on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/donate and The Carter Center, https://www.cartercenter.org/donate.
