V. Darlene Scott of Haysville, KS, left us on Saturday June 8, 2024, just 10 days after her husband passed. Darlene was born August 27, 1940 in Wichita, KS to James and Anna (Worden) Wharton. She lived in Derby, Wellington and Belle Plaine KS, in her youth and graduated from Belle Plaine High School. She attended Business college and worked in Wichita then married the love of her life, William (Buss Scott) on October 19, 1958. Together they loved and raised 3 children and were very proud of their 4 grandchildren. Darlene worked and made special friends as a Teller for Haysville State bank in earlier years and retired from Cessna Aircraft doing accounting and budgeting after 29 years. She also did the books for Buss Scott Plumbing until her husband retired. She was known to always be busy in her home and gardens, and Darlene and Buss were able to enjoy several of their retirement years traveling and doing the snow bird thing in Arizona, but mostly in Donna Texas, where they met and enjoyed many new friends in the retirement park.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband William (Buss) Scott; parents, Jim and Anna Wharton; siblings, Druzilla (Dotty ) Beaver, Donald Wharton, Vernon Wharton, Merlin Wharton, Delbert Wharton, Raymond Wharton and Deann Learned.
