Valeria Diane Coggin

Valeria Coggin of Good Hope, Georgia passed away Sunday, July 20th at The Landing Assisted Living facility in Bogart, Georgia. She was born at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta and lived with her family in Avondale Estates for 45 years. She attended Avondale High School and was an active member of First Baptist Church Avondale, where she participated in mission activities and singing in the choir. In 1997 she moved with her parents to Good Hope, Georgia to be closer to family. She became an active member of Gibbs Memorial Baptist Church in Bostwick, Georgia and was involved in many activities at the church. She lived with her mom in Good Hope until her passing in 2018. Valeria continued living at home next door to her sister until 2021, when she moved into The Landing Assisted Living Facility. Affectionately known by both friends and staff as Val, she stayed very active participating in activities and going on shopping trips with the other residents. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Evelyn Coggin. She is survived by her sister, Sherry (Tim) Hanes; niece, Abby Gazaway (Jeff); nephew, Michael Hanes (Nicky); 3 great nieces; 1 great nephew; along with multiple cousins. Valeria was always filled with laughter and joy and brought happiness to all who knew her. She will be sorely missed. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Gibbs Memorial Baptist Church, 1041 Church Street, Bostwick, GA, with Rev. Rusty Ruark officiating. Interment will follow at Bostwick Memorial Cemetery, Fambrough Lane, Bostwick, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 209 S.
