Van Kizer, 78, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born October 12, 1946 in Owensboro to the late Gordon and Priscilla Falloway Kizer. Van retired from the State of Kentucky where he worked as a probation and parole officer.

Family was everything to Van and he cherished the bond he shared with his sons. One of his most favorite times of the year was March Madness where they would all gather to cook and watch the games. This tradition slowly grew to include four grandsons and dozens of friends who loved being in "Pops" presence.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Nelson Kizer; and a daughter-in-law, Virginia "Ginny" Kizer.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Kizer, whom he wed in 2000; two sons, Craig Kizer and Ryan Kizer (Kristen); stepson, Quinn West; four grandchildren, Max Kizer, Bryson Kizer, Cooper Kizer, and Logan Kizer; and a sister, Brenda Winstead.

Visitation is from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. There will be no service.
