Van Ray Robinson

Van Ray Robinson, 91, passed away quietly on October 27, 2025, at White Oak Manor of Waxhaw NC. He was a native of Asheville, NC where he graduated from Emma School and completed a long career as a commercial plumbing contractor. Van's love for Jesus and his strong Christian faith has been passed down to his family who are eternally grateful. One of his fondest memories was having the chance to travel to Vero Beach FL to try out for the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball team following high school.

Van was preceded in death by his parents, Lela Bess (Sloan) Robinson and WC Robinson, his brothers Travis Robinson and WC Robinson, Jr and sister Jean Robinson Embler.

Survivors include his wife Faye Strickland Robinson of Smithfield NC, sister Peggy Robinson Oxner of Asheville, daughters Gwen Robinson Stokes (Tim) of Waxhaw, Sandy Robinson List (Nelson) of Indian Trail and Lori Robinson Veith (Ron) of Charlotte, stepson Jeff Strickland (Beth) of Charlotte and stepdaughter Lisa Strickland Smith (Tim) of Clayton as well as his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Robinson's service of life will be held at Heritage Funeral Services of Weddington, NC located at 3700 Forest Lawn Dr, Weddington, NC 28104 on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 beginning at 2 pm. The family will receive family and friends at 1 pm in this location with internment at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The services will be officiated by The Rev Dr Terry Moore of Weddington Methodist Church.
