Big Stone Gap, Va.-Velma J. Bobrosky passed away on March 9, 2023. Velma was born on April 9, 1944, in Big Stone Gap Virginia to Judge Ray Hood and Samantha May Hood.
She was married to Steve Bobrosky, Jr. She was a lifelong member of East Stone Baptist Church. She loved children, animals and her family. She was loved by so many and will truly be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Judge and Samantha Hood and her sisters, Mary Cobb and Patricia Colvard.
She leaves behind her husband, Steve Bobrosky Jr.; her two sons, Jeffery Bobrosky and daughter-in-law, Dora Bobrosky, and Eric Bobrosky and daughter-in-law, Alisha Bobrosky; her grandchildren, Daniel Hobbs, Shannon Bobrosky, Racheal Nowell, Chelsea Murphy, Michell Brackett, Jacob Bobrosky and Mason Bobrosky; her great grandson, Tristan Stevens; her sisters, Rebecca Robinson and Catherine Esteppe; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at East Stone Gap Baptist Church on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 7:00pm with Dr. Lonnie Brooks officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to East Stone Baptist Church, P. O. Box 100, East Stone Gap, VA 24246.
Gilliam Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to serve the Bobrosky family.
