Vera Belle (Banks) Potter, 84, of Brown City, died on Monday, March 17, 2025, at the Hospice House in Marlette. She was born May 21st, 1940 to the late Gilbert and Grace (Blatt) Banks. She married James R. Potter, Jr., on June 20th, 1959 and spent her whole life on the family farm working alongside her husband and raising four daughters. Later in life, she worked for ten years at the Marlette and Brown City Alternative programs where the students all called her "mom".
Vera attended Fellowship Bible Church where she played the piano, worked with the children's ministry and served on the Mission's Committee. She loved her Lord Jesus, her four girls, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James; her four daughters, Juanita (Russ) Clark, Janette Potter, Julie (Woody) Webb, and Jamie Potter (Matt Cox); her grandchildren, Russell (Linda) Clark, James Webb, Lauren and Kailyn Cox; her great granddaughters, Aubrey, Gabby, Ryleigh, and Skylar Clark.
She is also survived by her sister, Jan Butler; brother, Paul (Betty) Banks; many nieces and nephews; and her "Besties", Sherryl Potter and Joan Bell.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fellowship Bible Church for missions.
A funeral service will be held at Fellowship Bible Church, Brown City on March 22, 2025 at 1:00 pm with visitation beginning at 11:00 am with Reverend Dave Engle and Reverend Woody Webb officiating.
Interment at Omard Cemetery in Flynn Township, Brown City.
