"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." - Revelation 21:4
Vera Lee Walters, age 92, of Dupont, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Harry and Irene (Willman) Greenhill, was born on June 10, 1932, in Louisville, Kentucky. After graduating high school, she began working at the Madison State Hospital in the kitchen. On October 5, 1949, she was united in marriage to Delbert "Bo" Walters and they enjoyed almost 43 wonderful years together. Shortly after their wedding, Bo and Vera were blessed with two children: Rick and Pamela. While raising their children, Vera began her career at Grote Industries where she worked for over 30 years until her retirement. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and faithfully served the church alongside her husband who became a pastor in the 1960's. Vera was the centerpiece of the family and cooked many wonderful meals for their gatherings. She enjoyed spending time on the riverfront with her husband and watching old western movies. She was an avid reader, especially of her Bible and was committed to praying for others even when she was ill herself. Mrs. Walters passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville.
Her life will be cherished by her children: Rick Walters of Dupont and Pamela Jackson and her husband, Gary of Dupont; her grandchildren: Catrina Bell and her husband, Keith of Dupont, Ross Lutz of Columbus, Indiana, and Carrie Duke and her husband, Andrew of Madison, Indiana; her great grandchildren: Kris Bell and his wife, Haley of Seymour, Indiana, Brittany Lutz of Kentucky, Meghan Lutz of Kentucky, Autumn Brierly and her husband, Chris of Dupont, Summer Albus of Dupont, Peanut Albus of Dupont, Jackson Albus of Dupont, and Aiyla Duke of Madison; her great great grandchildren: Kylee Bell, Kinzlee Bell, Oliver Brierly, and Olyvia Brierly; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Delbert "Bo" Walters who passed away on April 16, 1992; and her siblings: Margaret Phillips, Charles Greenhill, Raymond Phillips, and Rita Booth.
At her request, no services will be held.
