Vernon Powers Obituary
Vernon "Corky" Powers, age 99, of Annandale, passed away on December 27, 2025, at Willows Landing in Monticello.
A private family committal service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Annandale.
Vernon William Powers was born on August 15, 1926, in Annandale to John and Bertha (Rathje) Powers. Cork was a lifelong resident of the Annandale area. He worked for Lakedale Telephone, Annandale and United Telephone, Osseo. He was an active member of the Annandale Fire Department for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and baking pies and cookies.
He is survived by his son, Steve (Kathy) Powers of Fernandina Beach, FL; brother, John (Sandy) Powers of St Michael; and sister-in-law, Norma Powers of Dawson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Harne) Powers; stepson, Larry Campbell; four brothers; and one sister.
