Vernon Allen Segars

Vernon Allen Segars, born on April 21, 1941, in Turlock, California, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on October 6, 2025, in his hometown. A lifelong resident of the Turlock area, Vernon grew up in nearby Ballico. He married his beloved wife, Nancy Beatty Segars, at the First United Methodist Church on June 23, 1962 in Turlock.
Vernon graduated from Livingston High School in 1959. He initially worked as a turkey rancher before transitioning into agricultural finance and lending. He retired in 2000.
Known for his love of family and the outdoors, Vernon was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman, and traveler. He cherished moments spent RVing across the country. He was a familiar face at the Canal Drive Starbucks "Coffee Club" and a proud member of SIRS.
Vernon is survived by his wife, Nancy Segars, of 63 years; his children, Susan Silva (Don), Jeff Segars (Sharon), and Randy Segars (Lisa); his beloved seven grandchildren, Whitney Zumstein (Chad), Taryn Nascimento (Joel), Craig Segars (Bree), Ryan Segars (Patty), Ashly Woodall (Ryan), Andrew Segars, and Adam Segars; and his cherished seven great-grandchildren, Presley Zumstein, Emmett Zumstein, Olivia Nascimento, Kate Nascimento, Parker Segars, Tate Segars, and Maesyn Segars, with one great-grandbaby on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Gladys Segars.
A private graveside service will be held, with a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
