This is Eric Himmelreich , Capt H´s son. Vernon used to come to our house and play and sing songs w Cliff Albright and my Dad would record them. As a young man I really didn´t get the kind of stuff they were playing. Years later when I picked up the guitar the wonders of his music just went straight to my soul .. and my funny bone! Vernon was so kind to me at my Dads memorial and we talked music for quite a while!!! All my pilot patients get to hear Vernon´s airplane songs and they all bring the CD back just amazed at his music and how he captured the nuances of being a commercial pilot!! Vernon has a place in my heart and mind and I´m so glad I got to know him !!

Of a man and a Muscian he was!! He was gracious , kind and we became reacquainted when my father started playing his CD´s . My family thought the world of Capt Tines and was so glad to

So sad to hear about the passing of Vernon Tines. I too enjoyed hearing him sing the Martin 404 song and looked forward to him singing at the Southern Airlines luncheons. He was such a talented and nice person to know. My sincere prayers and condolences to his family and friends.

Every time I play "The Martin 404" song on my guitar it´s impossible to NOT think about Cliff Albright and Vernon Tines. I will continue to play it (most requested song) and will think about Vernon every single time! God Bless you and your family.
