Vicki Ann Furtney, age 79 of Chattanooga, TN passed away Monday, May 5, 2025, at Baroness Erlanger Hospital. She was born August 22, 1945, in Connellsville, PA.
She was an avid supporter of both St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). She spent quite a few years working for NASA building electronics and circuit boards used in various air and space craft. Later, she went back to school to get her barbers license and worked as a barber for 30 years. She loved fishing and would spend as many days as possible on or near the water.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Meredith Ruggieri; brothers Sam and Dennis Ruggieri; and sister Janet Barnes.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; sons, Kevin Furtney and wife Rachel; Anthony and Lacey Furtney. Grandchildren, Tyler Ann Ferguson and Oliver Furtney; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Vicki's life will be conducted at 2:00 pm EST, May 31st, 2025, in Orlando, FL at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at Carey Hand.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital or PBS.
