Funeral service for Vicky Lou Sargent, age 78, of Mount Vernon, Texas will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home with Jason Mays officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Alvarenga, Tim Kelley, Yankton Hatten, Adam Ticer, Mark Ellerman, and Johnny C. Sargent.
Vicky Parker Sargent went to be with our lord and savior on January 2, 2025. Vicky was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and follower of Christ. Vicky was born on October 14, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant to John Wesley Parker and Ruth Marie Harcrow. Vicky was a member of the Living Truth Fellowship in Mt Pleasant where she devoted her life to Christ. Vicky was an extraordinary woman with a kind heart. Vicky was a long-time business owner in Mt Pleasant. She owned 3rd Street Cafe in her younger years than later owned and ran Peddlers Pizza for well over a decade. Vicky loved running the pizza business where she got to meet many people in the community.
Vicky is survived by her daughter, Tonya Messer, husband Wayne of Pittsburg, daughter, Regina Cartwright, husband James of Naples, son, Wesley Sargent, wife Megan of Mt Vernon. Vicky is also survived by her grandchildren; Haley Albright, Josh Cartwright, Adan Sargent, Jaydan Sargent along with her two great-grandchildren Benjamin and Kamryn Albright. She’s also survived by her brother, Kenneth Harcrow, wife Maxine of Calhoun, Georgia. Sister, Rita Ward, husband Butch of Mt Pleasant. Along with several nieces and nephews.
Vicky preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie “Woody” Sargent, father, John Wesley Parker, mother, Ruth Marie Harcrow and grandson, Zackery Messer. The family would also like to thank Lori and Tim Kelley along with Jamie Skaggs for always being there for her. Vicky loved them as her own family, and we cannot express enough how much they’re grateful for her.
