Victor Colon, 71, of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025.
Born on May 16, 1954, in The Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late Victor and Carmen Colon. Victor spent his early years in Brooklyn's Cooper Park Projects alongside his sisters, Nancy Rueda, Christine Colon, and the late Michele Colon. The family later moved to Wallkill, New York, in 1969.
A talented hairstylist and mentor, Victor built a respected career through his creativity, kindness, and genuine care for others. His warmth and humor left lasting impressions on clients, colleagues, and friends alike.
Victor was deeply proud of his sobriety and devoted much of his life to helping others through Narcotics Anonymous. His commitment to service and compassion reflected his guiding belief in "Loving Kindness," which shaped every aspect of his life.
He will be remembered for his joyful spirit, his love of dance music and meditation, and his ability to make others feel valued. Family fondly recalls his adventurous nature-like the time he and his sister Nancy snuck out to take the family car for a drive, a story retold with laughter for years to come.
Victor is survived by his sisters, Nancy Rueda and Christine Colon; several nieces, nephews, extended family members; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Michele Colon.
A celebration of Victor's life will be held in Tampa at a later date. In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local Alcoholics Anonymous chapter or recovery support organization in his honor.
