Victor Joseph DeCroix

Victor Joseph DeCroix, 91, of Germantown Hills, IL, formerly of Springfield, IL, passed away at 4:53 pm on Friday, July 22, 2022 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.
He was born on May 16, 1931, in Springfield, IL, to Victor H. and Bessie (Edson) DeCroix. He married Joann Jackson on May 29, 1952 in Springfield, IL. Victor and Joann had just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past May.
Surviving are his wife, Joann of Germantown Hills; children, Vickie (Gerry) Burroughs of Pekin, IL, Raymond (Holly) DeCroix of East Peoria, Debra (the late Rick) Gebhardt of Pekin, IL, Stephen (Diane) DeCroix of Washington, IL, and Michael (Michelle) DeCroix of Washburn, IL; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill DeCroix, sister Bernice VanDyke, and son-in-law Rick Gebhardt.
Victor was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He had worked at AT&T as a communications supervisor for 32 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Willow Hill United Methodist Church in Germantown Hills, Masonic Lodge 352, Spring Bay American Legion Post #1115, Cub Scouts, and life member of EAA. Victor was a pilot and enjoyed flying, woodworking, his flowers and roses, and especially painting.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Willow Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Nicole Cox and Pastor Ken Hogren officiating and military rites accorded. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Tuesday also at the church. A luncheon will immediately follow Vic's service in the fellowship hall at the church.
