Victor E. DeWees, age 82, husband of the late Mary Jane (Smith) DeWees of Limerick, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023 in his residence. Born on March 1, 1941, in Collegeville, he was a son of the late Anna M. (Ewing) Denner.
Victor was an owner/operator over the road truck driver for 65 years. He leased his truck to and was employed for 38 years by Elite Services. He had been a member of the Teamsters Union and United Steelworkers GMP Local 132, and for over 20 years, drove exclusively for the Spring City Electrical Manufacturing. Victor had over 6 million miles logged from driving almost every road in the United States. He could give anyone directions for anywhere they wanted to go.
He enjoyed the outdoors and deer hunting with his brother, sons-in-law,- grandson Ryan, and great-grandson Wyatt. He also enjoyed camping at Otter Lake for the past 45 years. Victor enjoyed listening to country music, watching western movies, and poker nights with his brother Tommy. What gave him the most joy was riding his Harley with his son Jim and friends, and time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The smile could not be wiped off his face when he was holding one of them.
Victor was a man with many stories. He enjoyed sharing them over a beer or Jack and Coke at many of the local establishments with his grandsons Brett and Aaron. He was a member of the Hookies, Lower Pottsgrove Gun Club, Royersford VFW, and a lifetime time member of the American Italian Club. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Phillies, Eagles, Penn State, and NASCAR. Victor especially enjoyed celebrating his 80th birthday at the 80th Anniversary of Daytona Bike Week in Daytona Beach, FL.
There was nothing that Victor couldn't fix, customize or build. There was also not a tool that he didn't have.
Victor is survived by his children: James V. DeWees, of Pottstown, Victoria E., wife of Harold Rubright, of Bechtelsville, Veronica E., wife of Brett Clark, of Royersford, and Dante K. DeWees, of Exeter; eight grandchildren: Becky, Courtney, Ryan, Dana, Shelby, Brett Jr., Brittany and Aaron; sixteen great-grandchildren: Jimmers, Colton, Wyatt, Russell, Madelynn, Kinley, Wade, Josalyn, Riley, Kennedy, Mila, Jace, Isabel, Hannah, Lyle, and Malcolm; siblings: Patsy McDaniel, Carol Davey, and Thomas Denner; brother-in-law: Ronald W. Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 11:00 am, at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford. My Uncle Vic, all the memories of my life time, from going to PA and spending time with the PA family as a child with my parents to just a couple years ago Uncle Vic coming out to Ohio spending time here with family, and oh yes many many stories and then dose off, and wake to pick up right where he left off.
My heart is saddened knowing he won't be here with us anymore, just as we have missed my Aunt also from her passing a few short years ago, but I do have so many good memories of both Aunt Mary and Uncle Vic, RIP, It was an honor knowing you and being your nephew.
Love Anthony

I knew Victor decades ago when I was just a child--his sister Carol was my best friend. My condolences and prayers for God's comfort.
