Victor Hackett son of the Late Georgia E. Carter was born August 16, 1945 in Bronx New York. At a very young age, Victor came to Delaware with his loving family the Late Elder James Hackett and Elder Minnie James Hackett adopted Vic, into their family, a family of born-again believers. Teaching him the Love of God, before he knew his ABC's. They believed the word of God "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it" ( Proverbs 22:6). Vic was Baptized and received the gift of Salvation under the leadership of his father's Pastoral charge at Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he sang on the Choir.
Vic was educated within the Wilmington School District.
As an enthusiast of music, he played the clarinet and sang on the choir graduating from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1964.
Later Vic was blessed with 2 Children Kisha Hackett and Victor Hackett II.
Returning back to New York, Vic was able to secure employment with Wall Street at the Burnham Stock Exchange.
After working with the Stock Exchange, for over a decade he decided to branch out as an entrepreneur opening his own Beauty Salon, but it just wasn't what he wanted, Eventually, Vic found his Passion and Purpose, which was to buy and Operate his own Trucking Co. "Joy Merchant Enterprise Company," Hauling, Traveling Everywhere in the USA, taking his wife on many trips with him, Long Distance 18-wheeler Truck didn't bother him, he knew every Interstate, Route, Road Street, even Cul de Sac. He knew all the USA Routes, plus the one's we never heard of or knew about. (All before the GPS, he used a Map).
40 years ago, he met and Married the love of his life Jacqueline Johnson, the two became one, later moving to Lindenwold NJ, making their home & Union with God being the head of their lives, they joined and became faithful members of The Antioch Baptist
Church in Camden NJ.
Vic was a family man and held all of his titles dear to his heart, he would do anything for anyone!
Vic returned his family back to Delaware so he could take care of his mother Georgia, until her demise.
Vic never met a stranger; he would speak to you and before the conversation was over, he would Know someone you knew or someone that was related to you! Vic has joined in heaven his Mother Georgia Carter, Parents Elders James and Minnie Hackett; Sister Bette Green; Daughter-in-Law, Sherri G. Wright, Sisters and Brothers in Love!
Vic will be sorely missed by his devoted, loving wife Jacqueline Johnson-Hackett; Children-Kisha (Keenan), Victor Mehari Hackett II, John A. Wright, and Shelia M. Wright; Sister, Pastor Geneva Hackett, A Devoted Special Cousin Alexandar Robinson, 7 Grandchildren, 16 Great grandchildren, 5 Sisters-in-Love, 1 Brother-in-Love, many nieces, nephews, beloved cousins, The Truckers, and many, many friends!
