Victoria Alva of Mount Pocono passed away early Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono in East Stroudsburg.
Victoria was born in Cusco, Peru on December 23, 1936, a daughter of the late Enrique and Irene (Cordova) Nunez. Victoria was educated in Peru and worked in the medical industry, passionately caring for seniors. Victoria migrated to the United States in 1970, where she spent her working career in the hospitality industry. After she retired, she relocated to Mount Pocono.
She is a member of Most Holy Trinity Parish in Cresco. She enjoyed reading, gardening, knitting, word puzzles, and cooking. Victoria cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband Ricardo Alva, who passed away on December 15, 1998, and brothers, Ceaser Nunez and Felix Nunez.
Surviving are daughters, Maria Irene Rodriguez and her husband, Nelson, of Mount Pocono; Olga Royce of Fair Lawn, New Jersey; son, Richard Alva, of Weehawken, New Jersey; bother, Milquiades Nunez and his wife, Ada, of Norwich, Connecticut; sister, Tina Cordova of Chicago, Illinois; brother, Gumercindo Nunez, of Peru; brother, Juan Nunez and his wife, Visitacion, of Peru; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and extended family members.
A full Catholic mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 29, 2025, 11:00 A.M., in Most Holy Trinity Parish, 236 PA-390, Cresco. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the mass. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
