Vijay K. Seth

Vijay (Vic) Kumar Seth, of Chicago, Illinois, beloved husband, proud father, and dedicated grandfather, passed away suddenly on August 24, 2025 at the age of 80. Vijay is survived by his wife, Seema (Nirmal), his adoring children, Asheesh (Shiva) Seth and Bindu (Jared) Heck, his six gorgeous grandchildren, Rowan, Nathan, Khalen, Vera, Devin, and Miles, as well as his sister Amrit, cousins, and countless nieces, nephews, and friends.

Vijay was born in Punjab, India, where he studied hospitality & hotel management and met his wife of 57 years. They married on August 24,1968. He emigrated to Chicago, Illinois in 1970, where he would work and raise his family for the next 55 years. Starting from the ground up sweeping floors in a Chicago warehouse, Vijay realized the American Dream of entrepreneurship and founded several businesses throughout his life, culminating in his most profitable venture, Sterlite Software. A natural born salesman, Vijay was able to achieve astounding success through sheer determination and hustle.

Vijay had an enormous passion for travel and, in his younger years, scuba diving. He loved showing off all his passport stamps and touting his Lifetime Executive Platinum frequent flyer status. He was also proud of the fact that he was able to visit all seven continents.

Vijay was vibrant, intelligent, and always the life of every party. Simply put, he lived life to the fullest and always on his own terms. He will be remembered for his generosity, quick-wit, and infectious laugh.

Visitation, Friday, August 29, 2025, from 9 a.m. until time of Hindu Pooja Service, 10 a.m., at HABEN Funeral Home & Crematory, 8057 Niles Center Rd., Skokie, with cremation immediately following.
