Vincent James Angell II, 75, McLouth, KS, passed away December 2, 2024.
Vincent (Vince) was born June 28, 1949, in Kansas City, KS, the youngest son of Norbert A. and Martha Belle (Henry) Angell. He graduated high school from Washington High School, Kansas City, KS in 1968 and married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia (Cindy) (Houk) Angell on December 27, 1969, in Kansas City, KS and shortly after started a family, having 2 children, Kelly Eugene and Lynda Jean in 1970 and 1971, respectively. Starting his career at 17, he was a loyal union man for the Operating Engineers Local #101 as a heavy equipment operator and then later as a business agent. He built a home and moved his family to Tonganoxie in 1978 where he resided before moving to McLouth in 2000. Vincent is best known for his generous and resourceful nature. He was an avid collector of antiques and unique finds. He was always willing to forgo his own needs to lend a hand or his time to others. He was the engineer of most anything he could dream up, constantly fixing, building or planning his next project. After retirement he and Cindy spent quality time at the Lake of the Ozarks where he built their lake home in the family cove that contains the original family homestead and his most cherished childhood memories. He was a very proud and humble man, boasting only about his children and his Irish-Scottish heritage. In July of this year, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of taking his family to Ireland and Scotland where they spent 17 days creating forever memories. He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. He was preceded in death by his parents, his three brothers Norbert II (Rosalee), Gilbert (Louise), Joseph (Judith) and his grandson and namesake, Vincent James Angell III.
Survivors include his loving wife Cynthia, of the home; one son, Kelly (Tara) Angell, Tonganoxie; one daughter, Lynda (Kenny) Patterson, Tonganoxie; 3 grandchildren- Austin Norris (Hannah), Courtney Wolf (Joseph) and Hunter Angell, Tonganoxie; and 6 great-grandchildren – Peyton, Meyson, Elliot, Joseph II, Koe and Hayden, Tonganoxie.
The family will plan a celebration of life and burial at the Lake of the Ozarks in the Spring upholding his wishes to call this his forever resting place.
