Vincent J. "Vinny" Bastarache
Of Waltham, passed away Sunday November 24, 2024,
Vinny, a husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, US Army Veteran, and friend to many.
Vinny lived a fulfilled life, moving from Canada to the United States at eighteen years old and joining the United States Army, where he selflessly fought for this country during the Vietnam War.
After his military service, Vinny married his wife Caroline and had three children. Vinny worked endlessly to provide for his family and to give them the best life possible so they could succeed in life. While raising his family, Vinny went from coaching Little League Baseball to attending Red Sox games with his son. He traveled throughout the northeast, taking his daughters to Irish Step Dance competitions. From summer trips to Orlando and winter vacations to Canada, he cherished every family vacation. As they grew, Vinny had the fortunate opportunities to see his children flourish in life-his son becoming a Waltham Police Officer and his twin daughters becoming attorneys, he was present every step of the way. He took every opportunity he had to tell friends, family, and strangers how proud he was of his son becoming a police officer and his daughters becoming successful attorneys. His family was his entire life.
Born on November 29, 1949 in New Brunswick, Canada; son of the late Odelon Bastarache and Theresa (LeBlanc) Bastarache of New Brunswick, Canada. He was also the son-in-law of the late Mary Fisher Good.
Vinny is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years Caroline (Fisher) Bastarache, his loving children Waltham Police Detective Christopher Bastarache and his wife Katy Locke, his daughters Shannon Bastarache and Kaitlyn Bastarache of Waltham, MA and Denis Bastarache of New Brunswick, Canada and predeceased by his daughter Heather Anne Bastarache. He also leaves his brother Henri Bastarache (Ginette) and Ronald Noel (Francine) and sisters Giselle Bastarache (Leo Allain) and Ginette Jaillet (Lori) all of New Brunswick, Canada, His brother-in-law Nicholas Fisher (Doreen) of Norwell, MA. He was predeceased by his brothers Alyre Bastarache and Normand Noel of New Brunswick, Canada. In addition, he is survived by several extended family members, nieces, nephews and cousins.
