Vincent J. Favale
"Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather & brother"
Vincent J. Favale,80 of Southington, passed away peacefully on Sunday May 19,2024 at the Vitas Inpatient unit at St Mary's Hospital with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Judy (James) Favale of forty-two years.
Vincent was born in Torella, Dei Lombardi, Province of Avellino, Italy on February 10, 1944, a son of the late Joseph and Maria (Sica) Favale. At the age of 4 years old, Vinny made the journey to the United States with his father in September 1949, to join his mother and sister who came in April of 1949, settling in Waterbury. He graduated from Leavenworth High School, and served proudly in the United States Army and National Guard for over 20 years. Vinny worked for Truelove & Maclean Inc. retiring in 2006 as Manager of Tool Room Technology. While with the company Vinny traveled all around the world for business, having made numerous trips to Germany and China to trouble-shoot and teach other companies his trade.
Vinny was an avid golfer and twenty-year member of the Watertown Golf Club. Those that knew Vinny could attest that he had an uncanny witty sense of humor. He was proud of his children, and was a devoted son to his parents. He had a special bond with his sister Connie. He was a talented cook, enjoyed food shopping, his antique cars, and took immense pride in his meticulously manicured yard. He was a lifetime New York Yankee fan and Celtics fan. He loved spending winters at Cocoa Beach Florida visiting his family and friends.
Besides his wife Judy of Southington, Vinny leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Vincent Favale and his wife Michelle of Plantsville and Erica Rice of Spring Hill, Fl; a step-daughter Peggy Bonazelli of Southington; a sister Connie Croce and her husband Frank of Cheshire; a brother, Joseph Favale and his wife Lisa of Watertown. He also leaves behind his grandson, Joseph Favale and his wife Krystal of Morris, two Great Grandchildren, Tyler and Alivia, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Funeral will be held Friday May 31,2024 at 9:45 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, to St. Dominic's Church of St. Luke Parish,1050 Flanders Road, Southington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will follow with full military honors. A calling hour for Vinny will be held Friday morning from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
