Vincent F. "Vince" McCormack, 80, of Chambersburg, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Brookview Health Care Center. Born July 15, 1942 in Norfolk VA, he was the son of the late Vincent F. McCormack, Sr. and Jane B. Miller McCormack. Mr. McCormack served honorably with the United States Army from 1962-1964 in the Intelligence Corps. He earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maryland and went on to earn his Master's Degree and Doctorate from Michigan State. He was employed for eight years as a Professor at Penn State University in State College and then as a Professor of Accounting Information Systems at Shippensburg University from 1981 until his retirement in 2004. He was an active member of Corpus Christi Church in Chambersburg where he and his wife served as Eucharistic Ministers. Vince enjoyed computers, reading, and baseball and was an Atlanta Braves fan.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betsy" Summers McCormack whom he married July 20, 1996; two sons, John McCormack of California and Mike McCormack of Chambersburg; and two grandchildren, Jane and Louis.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 24, 2023 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Deacon Richard Ramsey will officiate. Interment will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 10:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home.
