Mrs. Violet Lucille Emory Monninger, 86, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and formerly of Hagerstown, died late evening, Monday, October 23, 2023, at Inpatient Hospice House of Hospice Of The Panhandle, Kearneysville, West Virginia.  She was the wife of the late Robert Lee Monninger, who preceded her in death on December 30, 2006.

Born April 3, 1937, in Pen Mar, she was a daughter of the late Marvin Lester and Ethel Patterson Emory.

She worked over 20 years with the custodial staff at Hagerstown Community College, Hagerstown.

Mrs. Monninger was a Brethren by faith.

Surviving are her daughters, Susan A. Raber and Sandra J. Scott and husband William "Gord", all of Martinsburg; five grandchildren Samantha Burker, Renee Moore, William Scott, Jr., Sierra Morrison, and Krista Kees; by fourteen great grandchildren and one step grandchild; as well as a cousin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Monninger was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Bobbi Jo Burker; and by three sisters, and a brother.  She was the last of her immediate family.

The family will receive friends at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown, on Friday, October 27, beginning at 10:00 AM, and until the funeral service begins at the funeral home at 11:00 AM.  Rev. James E. Gross will officiate.  Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Gardens, Hagerstown.
