Virginia was born to Claude and Marie Huffman on July 30,1928 in Canton, Ohio.
She was a long-time member of Brookside Country Club and Trinity United Church of Christ.
Virginia was a compassionate soul. She spent many years volunteering for the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
She was a skilled and competitive tennis player who played team tennis at both Brookside and Prestwick Country Clubs.
Virginia was a great baker well known for her holiday fruit cakes and fabulous pies.
She enjoyed spending her days watching all sports. Her favorites were tennis, golf, football and basketball.
In her early years Virginia worked for Hercules, The Hoover Company, The Locke Legal Firm and Lincoln Life Insurance Company.
Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, William J. Chievitz Jr. and her brother Donald Huffman.
She leaves behind her two sons Niels "Rick" Chievitz of Canton and James Chievitz of Columbus, daughter-in-law LeeAnn (Niels) Chievitz granddaughter Molly (Scott) Stum and two great grandchildren, Oliver and Charli Ann Stum of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Virginia was a loving mother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A small family and close friend's graveside service will be held on April 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel is entrusted with the arrangements. Please visit www.reedfuneralhome.com to sign the online guestbook.
