Virginia (Ginger) Lea Deamer was born July 23, 1937, to Virginia Belle Virdin (Mother) and John Clyde Miller (Daddy) in Wilmington, Delaware. She worked as a Ward Clerk at the Delaware Home & Hospital in Smyrna, retiring after 31 years. Ginger enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, crocheting, baking cookies, and reading.
In her many years, she and her husband (Skip) traveled to destinations, including Europe, Alaska, Venezuela, and the Caribbean. They traveled many times with Skip piloting their private plane, a Cardinal. Later, they RV'd around the country, welcoming new great-grandchildren, and family graduations and weddings, while also work-camping at their favorite spot - Alamo Palms. She surely lived a rich life.
She treasured special times spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and relished all their pictures in her revolving picture frame.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John C. (Jack) Miller Jr., her sister, Patsy Ruth Caron, and her grandson, Edward Lee Taylor.
Ginger is survived by her husband, Philip Deamer; 5 children, Rhesa Lea Townley with her husband Dana, Randall Walton Smith, Donald William Smith with his wife Cindy, Kristal Lynn Taylor with her husband Russell, and stepdaughter, Susan Deamer; 22 grandchildren; 87 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren (What a beautiful bountiful legacy!); sisters, Beverly Delong, Joanne Baker with her husband Clyde, Paula Hicks with her husband Bruce, and brother Donald (Butch) Miller with his wife Deborah; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are by Faries Funeral Home in Smyrna, DE. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, with visitation at 6 PM and memorial services to follow at 7 PM.
Ginger Deamer's earthly journey may have ended, but her story of love, laughter, and her life will live on forever. Jesus says, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die." John 11:25-26.

I first met Ginger at an Oshkosh Fly In. She was sitting on a hill with Skip and friends Ute and Dave and Conrad and Kathy. We went on several private airplane flying trips together. Ginger worked for me in the office at Alamo Palms Mobile Home and RV Park. Sincerest sympathy to Skip and families.

My husband & I have known Skip & Ginger for 15+ years since we started coming to Alamo Palms. Ginger& I called each other "sisters from a different mister"! So much fun! So many laughs! Our last trip to Alamo Palms, fall of 2019, we met up with Skip & Ginger in West Memphis, Arkansas, then caravaned to Alamo Palms together. My husband passed, May of 2020, our last RV trip was with Skip & Ginger. Love ya sista & will miss you!
