The retired Avon Lady was called to ring God's doorbell at 1 pm on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Bethesda Care Center, Fremont, OH, her home for the past 12 years. The "Red-Head-Forever" Virginia S. "Ginny" Poseler, 101 years and 9 months, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family, plus the nurses, aides, staff and residents who had become "family". She was an Avon Lady for over 25 years and she was her own best customer!
Ginny was conceived in Poland, born in Brooklyn, NY on New Year's Day, 1924 and raised in Detroit. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Guzowski) Klopocinski. Proud of her Polish heritage, Ginny spoke and wrote the language fluently, often chatting in Polish with fellow residents at Bethesda. Her favorite phrases included "Ja cie Kocham", "Ja cie Lubie" and the ever-cheerful "Yoooo Hoooo". She was a friend to all--no one was a stranger--and she always offered advice or opinions, whether you asked for them or not! While celebrating her 100th Birthday "Sto Lat" on 1/1/2024, Ginny and her great-grandson, Hudson, made national news when Gannett Media printed their photo and article from Sherry Trusty's newspaper write-up on Ginny's Advice on Living to be 100-BE HAPPY!
Ginny graduated from Pershing High School, Detroit, MI in 1942. On November 14, 1943 she married Frank Edward Poseler of Cleveland, whom she met at a friend's wedding. Frank, an Architect, began working in Fremont in 1947 and in 1952, designed and built their home at 732 Fennimore St.
A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grand mother and aunt, Ginny was always giving to others. She was an avid golfer-she putted with one hand so she could hold a drink in the other-and loved spending time with family and friends. Always ready for a party, she was famously the last one to leave (much to Frank's dismay). She loved to travel and brought joy wherever she went. Her positivity, fun loving nature and genuine care for others were cherished by all who was fortunate enough to know her. Fueled by coffee and two creams; Ginny had a unique ability to make everyone smile and laugh! She will be deeply missed.
Surviving are her children Steven (Becky) Poseler of Gibsonburg and Cheryl (Craig) Wendt of Elmore; 4 grandchildren Amy Poseler (Mike) Brinkman; Aaron Poseler (Lisa & son, John), Mark Poseler (Tabitha & daughter, Vera) and Paul (Jessie) Wendt; 5 great-grandchildren Matthew and Megan Brinkman; Hudson and Brooklyn Wendt and Jack Poseler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank (June 11, 1990) and their stillborn daughter, Lynn Ann.
Special thanks to ALL the "Bethesda Angels"-especially Nicole, Jenna and Erica-you all truly enriched and sustained her life; as well as Dr. Wonderly and Heartland Hospice. "Ja cie Kocham" Mama-until we meet again!
