Virginia Marilyn (Gherra) Macaione, 77, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025 in Aurora, IL.
Virginia was born in Chicago on May 17, 1947, to Peter and Therese (Heinisch) Gherra. She married Carl Macaione, with whom they raised Dawn and Dave.
She is survived by her children: Dawn (Jason) Senger, St. Charles; and Dave (Olivia) Macaione, Plainfield. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Kayla, Ashley (Chris), Kendall (Jake), Matthew and Nicholas; great-grandson, Lincoln; and her sister, Jackie (Richard) Carretta.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Carl, and her parents, Peter and Therese Gherra.Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 A.M to 11:00 A.M. with funeral mass to follow at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, St. Charles
Donations to the American Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Family,

This is Jim Heinisch from California. Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear sister, beloved mom and adored grandmother. Ginny was my first cousin. My dad, Joseph Heinisch, and Ginny's mother, Therese Gherra, were siblings.

We're so very sorry for your loss. Our family will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers. God be with you.
