Vivian Woodbury passed August 23, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. She was born September 11, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Elbert and Lovie Woodbury. She graduated from Germantown High School and did two years of college at the University of Pennsylvania. She moved to and resided in Boston, Massachusetts in her early twenties where she gave birth to her two children. She worked as a computer operator for many years in Philadelphia but then transferred her job to Boston. Following that she was a day care assistant for a few years. She returned to Philadephia in 1990 where she retired at sixty-two from Maplewood Manor Nursing Home in Germantown, Pennsylvania as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and one of the best employees! Vivian was a hard worker since she was a teenager and up until she retired. Finally, she moved to Columbus, Ohio in July of 2021 to be with and cared for by her daughter, Deanna. She is survived by her children, Deanna Woodbury and Edward Woodbury; six grandchildren, Nekia, Terrell, Deneisha, Tiara, Edward Jr., and Chanel; sister, Sara Walker; as well as a host of great-grandchildren and a few nieces and nephews. She loved to plant flowers, grow plants, cook her delicious meals, listen to music, dance, and sing. She loved watching television, going to church or watching church programs, laughing and having a great time with family. Her favorite color was red. Vivian was well loved by everyone her whole life. She was known for her beautiful smile and good heart. She was a great mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family very much and would do anything for them. She wore her heart on her sleeve and will be greatly missed by everyone. A message from daughter, Deanna: Dear Ma, I can't believe you are gone, but you will never be forgotten. I miss you so much and I'm sad but happy that you are free from pain, sickness, etc. Please watch over me, my kids and my grandkids as you are my angel now. I love you so much and I would choose you to be my mom again if I could. I hope you're dancing and singing and with Grandmom, PopPop and your twin brother. I will see you later for sure Ma but until then keep visiting me. My Vivi. XOXO Love always, Your Dee-Dee A poem dedicated by granddaughter, Nekia with lots of love: Weep Not for Me "Weep not for me though I have gone Into that gentle night Grieve if you will, but not for long Upon my soul's sweet flight I am at peace, my soul's at rest There is no need for tears For with your love I was so blessed For all those many years There is no pain, I suffer not The fear is now all gone Put now these things out of your thoughts In your memory I live on Remember not my fight for breath Remember not the strife Please do not dwell upon my death But celebrate my life."
