Wade Roberts Obituary

Wade Roberts passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Arabella Health and Rehab. Born on January 29, 1945, in Choctaw County, Alabama, he was the son of Lloyd T. and Nettie Moore Roberts. Wade dedicated 42 years to working in the maintenance department at the Georgia Pacific papermill and also owned and operated Professional Cleaners in Butler until his retirement. As a member of Storehouse Worship Center, he embraced Jesus as his savior. Wade had a passion for working with his hands and enjoyed fixing things. He was a devoted husband, father, and papa.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Wright Roberts; children, Wade K. Roberts, Lana R. Stafford and husband Tim, Earl Mathers, Wayne Mathers and wife Heather, and Joyanne Shoup and husband Brian; grandchildren, Codi Elmore and husband Ashley, Timothy B. "T.J." Stafford, Jr., John D. Roberts and wife Christina, William "Will" Roberts, Christi Mathers Williamson and husband Dustin, Chandler Mathers, William Mathers, Aiden Mathers, and Maddy Mathers; great-grandchildren, Shelby Grace Stafford, James Ross Pinkerton, and Tanner Williamson; sister, Patricia Mosley and husband Bill; brother, Dane Roberts and wife Martha; and brother-in-law, Jimmy Hurtt.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd T. and Nettie Moore Roberts; sister, Joyce Motley; sister, June Mundy; and sister, Marcelete Hurtt.
Pallbearers include Marlon Lucus, Tim Stafford, T.J. Stafford, J.D. Roberts, Will Roberts, and Greg Roberts.
Honorary Pallbearers include Jesse P. Wallace, Earl Mathers, and Chandler Mathers.
