Walter Campbell

Walter Campbell, a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at his home in Austin, Indiana. Born on September 3, 1947, in Perry County, Kentucky, Walter was the beloved son of Pearl S. Campbell and Mollie (Stidham) Campbell, both of whom preceded him in death.
Walter's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and commitment. He was married to the love of his life, Patricia Ann (Austin) Campbell, for 58 years.
A dedicated employee at Holm Industries in Scottsburg, Walter was known for his strong work ethic and made many lifelong friends while there. Beyond his professional life, Walter was a man of many passions. He had an abiding love for the outdoors, whether he was coon hunting, playing cornhole, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature. Walter was also a gifted handyman, always ready to fix or tinker with cars and lawn mowers.
Walter's family was the center of his world. He is survived by his children, James Campbell, Karen (Earl) Sizemore, and Latricia (Jeremy) Perry, all of Austin, Indiana. His siblings, Dewey Campbell of Tennessee, Herman Campbell of New Jersey, Grethal Barger, Sally Baker, and Doshia Centers, all of Indiana, will remember him fondly as a loving and supportive brother.
His legacy will live on through his grandchildren, Brittany Sizemore, Kristen Sizemore, Shawn Sizemore, Matt Hall, Cole Bohlander, Jaxton Perry, and Hailee Perry, as well as his great-grandchildren, Kegan Sweet, Silas Hall, Sylvia Hall, Kynslee Perry, and Keyden Carver. Walter was also preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Wally Campbell, Sr., Pearl Campbell, Jr., Lillie Bell Campbell, James D. Campbell, and Sarah Jane Davidson. They have now been reunited in a place of peace and eternal rest.
In keeping with Walter's wishes of no services, there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Walter Campbell's memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a man who made a lasting impact on his community and his family, and his presence will be deeply missed.
