She graduated from Austin High school in 1956, married David Michael Amick on May 10th 1959, and she worked at the Austin Clerk-Treasurer's at Austin City Hall for many years. Virginia loved to read and work in the garden.
Survived by son-in-law, Karl Hughes, grandchildren Gilberto (Amber) Alvarez, Michael Alvarez and Connor Hughes. Also survived by her great-grandson, Logan Alvarez. She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan M. Alvarez-Hughes and husband David Michael Amick.
