Walter worked as a maintenance mechanic for HeliCoil for many years. He also enjoyed bowling and playing golf with his coworkers in the HeliCoil Industrial Leagues.
A devoted husband and father, he was happiest spending time with his family. Some of his happiest memories were sharing his love of baseball with his sons and coaching them in Little League with the Brookfield Baseball Association.
He will be sadly missed by his sons, David Gill and his wife, Susan, and Robert Gill; and his sister-in-law, Margaret Shea.
He was predeceased by his two brothers, Harry and Fred; and his sister, Marie.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 15th at 11:00am at Wooster Cemetery in Danbury with full military honors.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Monday between the hours of 5:00 – 7:00pm.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Walter's caregiver, Ann Stone, for the kind and compassionate care she provided.
