Walter Patrick McQueeney

NARRAGANSETT, RI- Walter Patrick Pat McQueeney, 74, passed away on Sunday, November 30th surrounded by his family. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Col. Walter and Mary (Hanrahan) McQueeney. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Mara) McQueeney for the past 48 years.

A devoted husband, Dad, Grampy, and brother, he leaves his children Michelle McIntire and her husband Chris, and Shawn McQueeney and his wife, Gwen, and his two cherished granddaughters, Neave McQueeney and Mara McIntire. He leaves his siblings, Joan Pucino (Anthony), Robert McQueeney, and Mary Kilmartin, and many nieces and nephews, whom he dearly loved. He was met in heaven by his predeceased brother, Jerry McQueeney (Melissa).

Pat proudly served with the Rhode Island State Police for 25 years, retiring as Captain in 1997. He then worked at the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation. Pat loved golfing and spent many happy days with friends and family at Laurel Lane, Rose Hill, and many more RI and Florida golf courses, and Bonnet Shores Beach Club. He was a grad

uate of LaSalle High School and Roger Williams University.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 4 at 10:00 am in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett, RI. Visiting hours were held on Wednesday, December 3 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, RI. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, 73 Church St., Cranston.
