He is reunited with his beloved wife of 70 years, Teresa (Murphy) O'Malley, their son, Paul F. O'Malley, and daughter Kathleen O'Malley. Maureen and Kevin, So sorry to hear of your fathers passing. He had a wonderful life. I am sort of a second cousin you might say. My mother Margaret (Rogler) Hillner was Walter's first cousin via marriage of your grandmother Lillian who was my mother's Aunt. My mother's mother Rose (Fischer) Rogler and your grandmother Lillian (Fischer) O'Malley were sisters, hence Walter and my mother Margaret were first cousins. We used to visit your grandparents so many times as small children and loved listening to the stories your grandparents and parents told us over so many years. I was just looking at obituaries and found it just now today. Not sure you have any memory of us but wanted to send this to you so you know that we send our sympathy. Walter used to write me each Christmas giving a synopsis of what was happening in his life. Father Paul God rest his soul also would send a card each holiday season. Just so you also know, I lost my brother Kenneth Hillner on 12/21/22 and his wife on 11/22/22. They had lived in Brookings, SD. We wish you all the best. Linda (Hillner) Gelpke
