Walter Terefenko Jr, 62, passed into eternity Sunday April 20, 2025 after spending Easter with his family.

He was born in in Coal Township, PA on June 5, 1962 a son of the late Walter and Barbara (Long) Terefenko.

Walter was raised in Clifton Park, NY. At age 18, he began a 12-year career serving his country in the Army National Guard. Walter also recieved a Bachelor's degree in plant science from SUNY Cobleskill. He loved being in nature and cultivating plants both in his home and on his family property. Walter dedicated his life to Christ in 1990 and spent his subsequent years growing his family in the faith.

Besides his parents, Walter was predeceased by his brother, Henry Terefenko

Walter is survived by his wife, Dana Terefenko (Mellor); his children, Keziah More (Christian), Benjamin Terefenko, Sharon Terefenko, Jonathan “Jada” Terefenko and Karen Terefenko; his grandchildren, Peter and Zelda More; his siblings, Barbara Johnson and Inez Houston (David); his nieces and nephews, Barbara Ann, Charles, Erin Colleen, Eric John as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a memorial service to immediately follow at 12:00 pm on Monday, May 5, 2025 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday June 6, 2025 at Resting Place Hills Cemetery, 2551 Rte. 20, Carlisle, NY. A celebration of life will be held immediately following at Glimmer Glass State Park, 1527 County Highway 31, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
