Walton Edwin Hutton Jr.

Walter Edwin Hutton Jr., 83, passed away peacefully at home on September 4, 2024 in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
He was born on July 6, 1941 to Walter E Hutton Sr. and Claire (Faust) in Morristown New Jersey. He was raised in Morris Plains, New Jersey and graduated from Morristown High School in 1960. He later received an associate degree from RCA Institute.
He married Phyllis (Beattie) in 1964, the couple resided in New Jersey until 2003 before relocating to North Carolina. During their 60 years of marriage they had two children, Walter and Kim.
Walter began his career at RFL (Radio Frequency Lab). He later was employed as Vice President of Operations at Johanson Manufacturing, where he served passionately for almost 30 years. Some of his interests included ham radio, model trains, serving on various committees for hospitals, schools, and churches, and spending time with his family. Walter and his wife were active members of the Arden Seventh Day Adventist church.
He is survived by wife, Phyllis Hutton, their two children, Walter E (Corby) Hutton III, and Kimberly I (Wesley) Nicholson, and three grandchildren, Michael T Hutton, Matthew B Nicholson, and Clare C Hutton.
He is also survived by his sister Marion Bowker.
Family and friends are invited to the Arden Seventh day Adventist Church on September 14, 2024 at 4 PM for a celebration of his life.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Student Assistant Fund of the Arden SDA Church. Walter felt passionate about the young people in his church and was an advocate of Adventist Christian Education. This fund will help students who need financial assistance.
