Wanda Baugus, age 75, long-time resident of Kaufman, passed from this life on Monday, July 10, 2023, at Medical City in Fort Worth.
She was born on June 24, 1948, to the late Willie Robert (Buster) Fortner and the late Opal Marie Benson. She was raised on the Star Branch Ranch in Kaufman. Wanda married William Douglas Baugus on November 8, 1963, in Mesquite, Texas. She was a homemaker and raised three children while living in Grand Prairie, Texas before retiring to Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of sixty (60) years, William; her son, Michael Ray Baugus (spouse – Kathy) of Prior, Oklahoma; her son, Tony Dewayne Baugus (spouse – Aimee) of Hillsboro, Texas; her daughter, Elisa Ann Horn-Soule (spouse – Carl) of Arlington, Texas; and her sister, Shirley Marie Fortner-Smith of Kaufman.
Wanda also leaves her grandchildren, Shawn Horn (spouse – Alicia), Tiffany Jones (spouse Matthew), Dylan Horn, Michael Baugus (spouse – Harley), Megan Dixon (spouse – Dallas), Aaron Baugus, Tony Baugus, Jr. (spouse – Faith), Jamie Baugus James (spouse – Sedrick), Trevor Brackeen and Le Audrea Magness Weimer; and great grandchildren, Koen, Nikolas, Carter, Olivia, Jace, Liam, Hunter, Levi, Violet, Hazel, and Ella Mae.
Friends are cordially invited to gather with the family to share remembrances of Wanda, during a visitation from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Friday, July 14th, at the Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home Chapel. Wanda’s celebration of Life will begin at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Crandall Cemetery, Crandall, Texas.
