Garysburg, NC - Wanda (Zawada) Beaulieu, age 75, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia. Born on September 22, 1949, in Hanau, Germany, Wanda's journey began as her family migrated to the United States when she was a toddler. Raised in a devout Catholic household, she spent her formative years in Carteret, New Jersey, before relocating to a farm in Englishtown, New Jersey, where she developed a love for raising racehorses.
Wanda eventually settled in Garysburg, North Carolina, where she lived until her passing. Her vibrant personality, characterized by a quintessential "New Jersey" sass, sarcasm, and straightforwardness, left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Professionally, Wanda dedicated her talents as a Manager at a Wholesale Nursery, where she was able to indulge her passion for horticulture. Known for her extensive knowledge of trees, she was always eager to share her insights with others.
Wanda had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, with a particular fondness for the Cane Corso Breed. In her earlier years, she found joy in raising racehorses. A lover of Chinese cuisine, Wanda's zest for life was evident to all who knew her.
In her community, she gave back by serving as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader when her children were young, nurturing the values of leadership and service in the next generation.
Wanda is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nicol Beaulieu, her parents Jozef and Maria (Kaloczan) Zawada, sister Helen Garrett, and brothers Joseph and Stanley Zawada. She leaves behind cherished memories with her daughters, Janine Mosley (Kevin) and Monique Holowach (Scott), her son Nick Beaulieu, and her adored grandchildren Montana, David, Christopher, Bella, Hunter, Emily, and Ariana. She also leaves a great-granddaughter, Liliana, her brother Edward Zawada, her sister Agnes Zawada-Nesmith and several nieces and nephews.
Services are under the care of Cremation & Funeral Services of Tidewater. Wanda's cremated remains will be interred at a later date in Holy Trinity cemetery in Perth Amboy, New Jersey alongside her parents and siblings. Friends and family are invited to share memories and express condolences at CandFServices.com.
Wanda will be remembered for her unwavering spirit, her love for family and animals, and her direct, caring nature. May she rest in peace. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Wanda, please visit our floral store.
